Roles and Permissions
What each role can do, and how to choose one.
Roles
Each team member has a role that decides what they can do.
| Role | Typically can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing and deleting the workspace |
| Admin | Manage content, contacts, campaigns and team members |
| Member | Create and edit surveys, read results |
| Viewer | Read results only |
The exact set available to you depends on your plan.
Choosing a role
Give the least access that lets someone do their job. Not because colleagues are untrustworthy, but because most damaging mistakes are made by people who had permissions they never needed.
- Someone who only reads results should be a Viewer.
- Someone running campaigns needs contact access; someone analysing results does not.
- Restrict billing to the people who own the budget.
Changing a role
Change it from the team list. The change takes effect immediately, including for someone currently signed in.
Audit
Role changes are recorded in Workspace → Activity, with who made the change and when.
Tip — Review the team list quarterly. Access accumulates; nobody ever remembers to remove it.
