Customize Colors
Set the accent, background and text colours of your survey.
The colours you can set
- Accent / primary — buttons, selected options, progress bar.
- Background — behind the whole form.
- Card — the panel the questions sit on.
- Text — question and answer text.
Enter a hex value or pick from the colour picker. The preview updates as you type.
Getting it right
Start from your brand's primary colour as the accent, then leave the background near-white and the text near-black. Almost every survey that ends up hard to read got there by colouring the background rather than the accent.
Check contrast: text should be clearly readable against whatever sits behind it. If you have to squint in the preview, respondents on a phone in daylight have no chance.
Dark themes
A dark background works, but it has to be genuinely dark — a mid-grey background with grey text is the worst of both. If you go dark, take the text to near-white.
Tip — Set the colours once on your first survey, then duplicate that survey as the starting point for the next one.
