Automation Actions

Every step an automation can run.

Steps run top to bottom, in order. An automation can have as many as you need.

    Send email

Sends one of your email templates to the contact. Choose the template when adding the step. See Email Template Builder.

    Add tag / Remove tag

Applies or clears a tag on the contact. Tagging is how you record that something happened, and how you trigger a second automation — see Automation Triggers.

Add to list / Remove from list

Moves the contact into or out of a contact list. Use this to keep campaign audiences current without maintaining them by hand.

    Wait

Pauses the automation for a set time before the next step. An immediate thank-you can feel automated; the same email two hours later feels considered.

    Webhook

Sends the event to a URL you specify, as JSON. Use it to push into your own systems — a CRM, a Slack channel via an incoming webhook, or an internal database.

    Ordering

Put Wait before the step it should delay, not after. A common mistake is sending the email first and then waiting, which does nothing.

Tip — End sequences with a tag. It gives you a way to see who completed the whole thing, and stops a second automation double-sending.
