Image (Display)
Embed a photo or graphic in the survey flow.
The Image block embeds a photo, diagram, screenshot, or graphic directly into the survey. It is not a question — it displays content without collecting any data. Use it to show a product mockup before asking for feedback, illustrate a concept that is hard to describe in words, or break up a text-heavy survey with a visual element.
When to use it
Reach for Image when:
- you are asking respondents to evaluate a design, product, or screenshot — show it first
- a scenario or concept is easier to communicate visually than in text
- you want to add brand visuals or a header image to a survey page
How to configure it
Open the question in the builder and expand Settings:
- Image — upload an image file (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG).
- Alt text — a text description for screen readers and in case the image fails to load.
- Alignment — left, centre, or right.
- Max width — cap the display width so a large image does not dominate the layout.
- Caption — optional text below the image.
Tips
Tip — Always fill in the alt text field. Screen readers rely on it for respondents using assistive technology, and it serves as a fallback for respondents on slow connections where the image may not load.
Tip — Keep images under 1 MB where possible. Large images slow page load on mobile, which increases survey abandonment.
